Hey everyone, im looking to scope my SMLE #3 Enfield. Just wondering who makes a scope mount for it, and what scope i can put on it. Also how hard is it to mount a scope on one , thanks!:)

Thanks for responding

Thanks for the quick replies!:) Unfortunatly when i bought it the guy sporterized the stock, but for what i paid for it it shoots really good! Although the recoil is some fierce, had a large bruise on my shoulder after firing 50 rounds through her haha:eek: Restoring it will be my next task. A question about the S&K mount, will it fit any rifle, because the site only shows AK's and SKS rifles. Also it seems the other mount was made for a #4 rifle, are they compatible? BTW this site rocks for info!:D

Sorry, I didn't notice it's a #3 model. I don't know much about Enfields so someone more knowledgeable on that subject will probably chime in.

Any help is good:) , since i can do more research on the mount, i talked to my local gun shop and they said they will have something in the next couple of weeks, something similar to the S&K mount, where you dont need to drill and tap. But he was talking around $120 for it. Does that seem abit much? I could probably get a 4x Scope for that. Oh well maby ill give Wholesale Sports a call tomrrow, and see if they can do better than that. Thanks again:)

I put a B-Square mount on my Savage . It installs and removes easy and fits well on my other No.4's as well .
I call it my Frankenfield T since it's resto made up from spare body parts .;)
I didn't like the way it fit to the receiver , it seemed too wide and sloppy . But with a slight squeeze to the mounts sides it fits securely and holds very well .
I noticed Marstars mounts and they look like they have a lower profile . Anybody have picts of these ?

Ok thats great, i just got my Whosale Sports cat. yesterday. Looks like Marstar has a cheaper price on them, also what scope should i look into getting? Would a 4x be enough, or a variable 3-9x mostly shooting will be within 200 yards.

Hey guys, can you still use stripper clips with that mount? Does the flip up sight have to be removed completely? It would be cool if you could still use the battle sight...

No 1 Mk III scope mount

I played with a B-Square scope mount for the No 1 Mk III a few years back, and it was not a great mount. It didn't fit well from action to action, and it was difficult/impossible to get it mounted level to the action. On the other hand, I have had great luck with their mount for the No 4s and No 5s. The two mounts are not the same. As far as price, before you decide whether it is too much or not, find out if it comes with rings. I know many of the B-Square mounts came with a decent set of scope rings that should be worth around $25 - $35.

Thx HHB
With the B-Square mount the rearsight is removed and loading is manual . On the range , I'll load one at a time anyway .

i use weaver T0-1 top mount dovetail base. low profile and very secure. it does require drilling and tapping however. I searched hi and low for mine and finally found it on ebay

Does anyone have any info on the Marstar website, are they good to deal with? Also any info on there scope mount, im not even sure what make it is. Damn those guys seem to have good prices on there site might have to pick up a mauser along with the scope:) Not sure if my enfield will get along with a mauser in my safe:eek:
