Wanting a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel for my AI AT rifle? Anyone in Canada?

So I ordered a barrel from Mike at Mile High. It's a 24' Bartlein 6.5 Creedmoor with the factory brake already installed, and he shipped it the day after we talked.
It's already at Prophet Rivers FFL in Washington and going thru the paperwork, should be here in Feb. Was easy to do and not really anymore expensive then any of the other options, but is definitely the quickest way to get a barrel.

^ That's awesome!! I tried that two years ago and it was a no go, I will try again this is great news!!!!!!

J996, curious as to why you couldn't bring in a barrel two years ago? Was it illegal or something at that time?
I was very impressed with Mile High and their customer service and wouldn't hesitate to call them and get a barrel from there. I talked to Prophet River about doing the importing, and they have all the forms on their website to send to Mile High, and it really is a straight forward process. Only 50$ for the import process, exchange on Cdn dollar, GST, and shipping, plus cost of the barrel. I did a lot of reading over on "Snipers Hide", and lots of guys have had great luck getting their barrels from them. They use Bartlein blanks and have a guy named Dave Tooley make them, who also apparently does all the barrels for Accuracy International North America. Can't get better then that.

redrams9, were you dealing with Randy at Milehigh? I called him last week about a 26" 6.5CM with factory brake and he was going to get back to me later that day but never did, guess I should call them again and try to get the ball rolling.

Hey Jay, I had thought it was Mike?, but could've been wrong about that. He had told me that they sometimes sell 4-5 of these barrels a day, so they are really comfortable dealing with them. I got a bit lucky, IMHO, in that they sell the 6.5 Creedmoor barrels in standard 26" units, with no threading or brakes. They can do that work but it takes an extra week or two. When we had talked, he just happened to have a 24" with an AI brake already installed, that another customer had ordered and then cancelled it, so I bought it and he shipped it out the next day! Great service.

Red, at that time they told me they were not allowed to ship anything AI out of the U.S. or it would violate their agreement with AINA. They also would not let me import because they said it was still leaving the country that way.
I am very glad to hear you guys have been getting stuff from them now, looks like policies have changed for the better!
Tooley's barrels are awesome, I want a 6.5 for my AW.

So I talked to Mile High today. They said they have an agreement with AINA to not ship barrels out of country. So I'm not sure now what to think. Sounded like it was a no go.

I ran into this issue last year and decided to buy a barrel blank and reamer and have a custom barrel in a custom 6mm chambering fitted to my AT. 'Guntech' aka Dennis Sorensen did the chambering for a very reasonable price and I was very pleased with the result. Hands down my most accurate rifle / barrel combo. I would recommend talking to Dennis if you are looking for an AT barrel and would prefer to avoid the hassle and 35% loss on the dollar associated with importing.

PM if you'd like photos of the barrel or targets. Its a consistent 1/4MOA barrel at 100yds. Fire forming rounds seem to be only marginally less accurate (higher velocity SD and ES)
