wanting to buy a SIG P226

I currently own a Glock 17 and a Beretta 96. I bought both in the last 7 months. Now I really want to get a SIG P226. Could I get some feedback and if anyone had some pictures of their SIG P226 can you post them?

they're pretty good guns, fit my hand extremely well. After Beretta, Sig is probably my favourite I was thinking of getting one but will out out for an AR or a Storm carabine...

You can get a short trigger. $60. This moves things back about 1/4"

That's 1/4" for both DA/SA right? Doesn't affect weight of the trigger I take it?

Anyone got a picture of the short trigger installed on their 226?

Does it need to be installed by a smithy or can I do it myself?

My tyrigger isn't the greatest, but with some practice, you don't have any real issues.

A great pistol. Mine is a two-tone, Made in Germany, .40 S&W. I added a Made in Germany, 9mm slide so I can enjoy a full day at the range. The kit is completed with 6 mags of each.

Within 30 seconds, I can go from 40 to 9, insert a mag and get the first shot off. Now, how often can you say that.

Sig makes a quality product, but it has to fit your hands. Ultimately, if the P226 is too big, you can also go with a P220 option.

I have a stainless 226 in 9mm that I got a few months ago. I find it very accurate and comfortable to shot.

That's why I'd like to get the P226 in .40 S&W because then you have the options of shooting .357 SIG or even 9mm.

Before you buy, check out HK USP. I switched from a new 226 stainless to the HK USP45 because of a problem with the 226. The HK feels better in my big hands and handles sooooo much easier. Check out my other threads about both. I just shot the 45 for the first time and got 1.5" groups at 15 yards, straight out of the box.

Ok I am confused, the .40 will also fire 9mm with just a new slide and mag?

That's right Colin, this is the 40 that you saw last year. I have a new 9mm slide that slides on perfectly. You can put a 9mm slide on a 40 frame but you cannot put a 40 slide on a 9mm frame.

If you know how to take your trigger out, you can do it yourself. There is no fitting required.
