Wanting to get into precision shooting

Waiting for someone from Alta to invite Shultzie to an F Class match...
Failing that, if you're up to a drive, the "Running of the V-Bulls" is in Kamloops in October.

pretty much working 7 days a week sept to the beggining of november but will definatly see. would like to get out and see some competition. still finding reading material and information on local ranges so I can go see whats going on.

thanks for the help so far

I know Obtunded has a strong Savage hate on but seriously, that precision carbine offers a lot for the money. And if you get serious down the road there are lots of options for barrel upgrades and such.

Lettuce be reality, you will not win any competitions with that rifle, but you could compete.

I do not have a strong Savage hate at all. I strongly recommend their single shot rifles for people wanting to get into F-Class shooting. What I hate is the BS that one brand is better than anther across the board.THAT is all about people validating their own choices.

What I dislike are the idiots that masquerade as experts, or misrepresent their credentials (and shooting experience) , and spew BS advice. I consider your input to be credible, There are other contributors to this thread that are not.

Dude, I seriously question your judgment now.

Just placed my order for one tonight :D

7lbs, .223 or .308, detachable box magazine, oversized bolt knob, synthetic stock (not sure if Im crazy about the digital camo though), accutrigger, accustock (pre-bedded from factory), etc

Great rifle and should be a decent shooter. Some tips to get it running its best.

Bed that accustock. Somewhere between design, engineering and production, alot of common sense got left behind.

Accutrigger, simple enough to lighten it up and it will get better after some use. Now I really like mine - crisp, light for a factory trigger with little to no overtravel.

I love the 223 versions - 75gr Amx or Bergers and you will have ubber fun reaching way out there. Sub MOA is a definite possibility. If anything like my present VLP, it will put huge smiles on your face.

Bolt timing will help the operation of the bolt alot.

Consider clear coating that digi camo. It is 'paint' of some kind and gets dirty real quick and is a PITA to clean up.

The det mags tend to work really well and have very long internal length which is nice for seating out bullets.

I am sure you will have lots of fun with it and it could be very competitive in a factory class as offered at BC F class matches.

In time, it is an easy action to modify and change parts on so the options are limitless.

Enjoy...

Jerry
