Are any of you using Warne bases/rings on your hunting rifles? How do you like them? Any pros/cons compared to other brands? I have never used them and don't know anyone who has. I am looking at the Maxima 2 pce steel bases and fixed rings.

Thanks.

I was gona use warne base but after some research on snipershide i got EGW for 1/3 of the price/// and they ship to Canada

We might not be talking about the same thing - Prophet River lists the Warne 2 pce bases for $28, so they aren't exactly expensive.

I like them. They are wide with lots of surface area to grip, 4 screws for clamping power, and 2 large recoil lugs.

Fixed rings can be bad if you need to remove a scope. Everything has to come apart then reassembled, boresighted and sighted-in.

They're alright, I have had a few sets and one set of their rings currently on my Ruger .375. Good customer service, once I bought a set that was missing 1 screw, no muss no fuss after a single email I had a full set of screws, not just one, no charge. I have to admit I greatly prefer Talley though.

I should point out that there are other brands I like and am familiar with, but only Warne and EAW make mounts for my Steyr (pre-SBS). I am not sure I want to spend $500 on bases/rings right now; on the other hand I am not going to put some junk on my rifle either. So that is why I ask.

Thanks for the input.
