Greetings fellow
Has anyone tried to mount a 42 mm scope on a Cooper model 52, using low Warne rings? I'm thinking medium rings might be safer, but I'm wanting to mount the scoope, a Zeiss hd5, as low as practicable.
Thank you for your advice.

Joe

If you have a picatinny rail on your cooper like I used to have then I think the lows will actually work with the 42mm objective kens. If your using standard scope mounts I’d prob go medium just to be safe.

Warne Maxima low rings are .250" from the base to the scope tube. Add the clearance provided by the base height. Measure the actual outside diameter of the 42mm objective (it'll be a little more than 42mm, which itself is 1.65"). The difference between the receiver and the barrel will give more room.
