anyone had any good or bad experiences with the warne qd mounts for tikkas or sako 75's. or should I just not bother & go with the optilocks that I know are bullet proof but heavy?
Thanks Tony

Hi Tony,

I went through the same situation but settles on the short and super low optilocks for my Finnlight. I know thew are heavy but as you said they are bomb proof and I could not find any info on the warne rings in regards to there weight but they are all steel so I figure they weight almost as much as the Opti-locks. Plus the opti-locks come with the plastic insert and this is a plus especially if you are mounting a high quality scope and dont want rings marks or dings.

I have both the Warne Maximas (QD's and "permanent" versions) as well as a couple of sets of Optilocks.

The Warnes are similar in weight (they may be a few grams lighter), but they will cost you about half of what the Optilocks cost, while being absolutely solid. Most of mine set me back $65 to $75 (the QD's are the more expensive of the two).

Western Gun Parts in Edmonton carries the Warne Maximas, and, of course, Brownell's carries them.

Thanks Guys I am a big fan of the optilocks as I have them on a couple of sakos already I think I may try out the warnes
