I've got an M700P .308 Win, but I got average hunting rings & 2-piece base. I want to upgrade my rifle with the BEST rings and mounts, also a jewel trigger I think is coming along with a camo job.

I've heard alot about the WARNE base being the "best", is this true?
Also they're two styles to choose from, STANDARD ELEVATION and 20 MOA. This is what I got from Brownells;

"One-piece, Tactical Bases are made from solid bar stock of cold drawn alloy steel, stress relieved for extra strength and uniformity. Available for standard elevation adjustment or with 20 MOA forward angle for extra long range shooting."

So, I'm guessing the best bet would be to get the 20 MOA base. What makes it a 20 MOA base? Is it because the mount is slightly higher in elevation at the front ??? (I have no idea:redface:)

I also need some kick-arse rings....I've heard alot about TRS rings. Should I just get WARNE Tactical rings while I'm at it, or go with something better.

Thanks alot :cool:

I've been using an EGW base for a while now and it is just as good as the TPS it replaced. These are not the stock EGW base from ebay. They are modified to our specs by EGW and we like them alot. Coincidentally, I sell them. For a non-biased opinion you can ask Jamie though. He has one and really likes it as well.

My EGW base is every bit as good as any Base I have had and used(Badger,TPS<Warne and Ken Ferrell) and less then then half the price as all I listed!

I have a 20 MOA Warne base, and TPS TSR rings and am very happy with the combo. A mount that cants downward towards the front will give you more elevation.
