Just picked up a nice Warner Greene carbine [brass frame] for my collection. A pretty scarce rifle; some info in Flaydermans books and lots on line. Wondering if there are any others in Canada...??? Would like to hear from anyone who knows about them, has one or has handled one. Thanks guys!

Willy Tincup,

When you were checking on the Internet I wonder if you ran across this?

Do you see any U.S. inspection markings on the stock?

I have an interest in Civil War carbines but I don't know anything about Warner carbines.
Two Flints the moderator of the forum in the link above has helped me with some info on my carbines.

Thank you David:
No, I had not seen the Cascity info before just reading it now. A lot of the info is the same as some of the other sources I found earlier but some conflicting as well. My carbine has no inspectors marks at all, just a letter P on the bottom of the barrel which I'm guessing is a proof mark but not sure about that. Mine does not have the stock checkering but does have a little finger groove thingy at the rear of the bottom tang .......and mine has a sling swivel in brass on the butt stock. Thanks again, I appreciate your response.....wTc

A shooting grade original smith is something I would really like to have one day.
