I had purchased a Nikon Prostaff a couple years ago. I had paid $129 for it plus tax. It was older stock that they were clearing out at a a Cabela's. I was really happy with it because of the clarity and the ease of use. It zeroed well and the magnification was smooth to adjust. This spring while working up a new load for the wife's rifle the crosshairs broke loose and started to turn about 15 degrees in the scope. After reading on line about Nimkns lifetime warranty I sent it in. That was about two weeks ago. I just received a new scope in the mail yesterday. I am very pleased with Nikons warranty. Now I realize that ideally you would not need warranty and the scope should not have broke down after two years on. 7mm-08, but their customer service has impressed me so much that I will be purchasing another Nikon soon.

I'm really liking the prostaff-2, starting to put them on a lot of rifles. Really bright and clear 3-9x40 for $200.

Well that's good to hear - I have 3 Nikon scopes now, but I'm hoping to never have the need to use the warranty. ;)

I've got a 3-9x40 prostaff on my .30-06 and have a hell of a time with the thing, the Simmons .22 mag scope on my savage .22lr is clearer at 100 yards on 9 power. If it's that foggy does that sound like something worth contacting the warranty folks about?
