I'm curious as to the worth of these 2 1942 Lee-Enfield canvas rifle bags:
(btw: they really are the brown colour you see in a couple of the shots, I don't know why some pics came out greenish)

Thanks in advance!

$45 to $75. If they were Canadian and in great condition, they could go for slightly more.

The mystery about these bags is what went in to the pocket. It was unlike the British to waste any material, so whatever does fit into there would be a tight fit.

If they have an arrow, they are British. If they have a C around the arrow, they are Cdn. The Cdn ones are also a slightly yellower color, whereas the Brit ones are usually more brown. The British arrow shows up on the first one.

There are about 3 or 4 wartime makers usually seen in Canada for this type of canvas work. The 2 you have shown are not amongst the ones I recognize.

This style of gun case were still available from the Cdn Forces supply system up until the mid 80s or so. With the intro of the C7 rifle, new ones were made (same Nato stock number which was odd) of a slightly different shape and out of green nylon type material, omitting the pocket.
