Now naturally I can't find it... but on a sponsor's site, I thought I saw a 226 combo for $999, featuring a conversion kit.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Can you point me at the link?

Here you go - (not sure if they are are sponsor so I don't have it hotlinked) Not sure if the pictue they are using is just a "stock photo" because it seems to be the older pre-E2 grip P226. Must be new 'old' stock at that that price though I would imagine. If you talk to them maybe let me know because I'm interested to find out.

thanks- that was it.

if i remember right, it's less expensive to buy a 226 in .22 and add the 9mm conversion rather than adding a .22 kit to a 9mm.

still, seems like a reasonable deal; i'll have to price the bits at Questar to confirm.

thanks again!

so at one store, a .22 sig is a minimum of $650 and a quick change kit is $636
for a total of about $1286.

hm....or $999.....

you're right- only $372

so $642+$379... $1021. and Questar occasionally has sales that make their pricing better...

yup, nothing to get excited about.

seems to make a fair bit of sense to buy the .22 and then the xchange kit, rather than the 9mm and a conversion.... or am i missing something?

Thats what were doing for my old ladies first handgun, she loves my beretta and wants the option to shoot 9mm but prefers the .22 due to cost of ammo so this was the best choice. So were going to get her the 226 classic and order the 9mm conversion when she wants it. Its the best value weve found so far

You might want to order that x-change kit before you actually need it. I've been waiting over 10 weeks (roughly) for mine to arrive...

The wait time for those P226 9mm kits are quite long. No one seems to have them in stock and when I was looking for one, everyone I spoke to was saying it could take months to get one.

I've been waiting since Feb 24 for a 9mm xchange kit for the p226...apparently sig usa has a huge backlog of orders...i already picked up the classic p226 .22 for 619 at SFRC (sponsor up at the top).

Shop around: I found the p226 Classic 22 for $550, with a choice of beavertail or standard frame. Though SFRC is an outstanding shop, and I would pay a premium to deal with them.
