Was the SKS ever equipped with military scope mounts?

I did see Fury Road.

Seeing the SKS with the 50m objective scope was awesome. I could definitely see something like that being put together after the fallout!

As far the SKS goes. It's a great rifle and a scope will indeed shrink your groups. You can shim the rifle and do other things to shrink your groups as well. The round just isn't suitable for a sniper rifle, that's all. 7.62x39 can be a great hunting round 150m or in on medium/small game.

People slap scopes without being questioned on Tavors, t97's, Mini 14's, stock m305's and XCR rifles..... all of which shoot around 2+" @100yrds, Yet somebody puts a scope on an SKS which shoots about the same..... "OH NO THAT IS STUPID, TOTALLY UNNECESSARY".

"Just use the iron sights, i can effectively use the iron sights out to 400m" The AR 15 is only effective out to 400m (practically speaking) , and the iron sights on them are great, yet why are people spending 1000s of dollars to slap scopes and EOTecs on them !??

Just because the SKS is a $200 gun, doesnt mean it has no potential. Take a Mazda Miata, and put a LS engine kit in it, and all of the sudden you have a serious car.
I like the way you think. Have any of you seen the russian who converted his SKS to 458 Socom?

not as a production gun . The yugo rifles were field modified with a large assortment of sniper scopes and night vision usually crude mounts were welded or drilled and tapped after cutting stocks down to fit mount. The Chinese did some as well with Mosin Nagant PU type mounts. The 7.632 x39 was very good for sniping in house to house use in the Balkans war in the 90s I think the Chinese rigs were for police.

The Syrian rebels are using what looks like cheap ncstar scopes with welded dust cover mounts on an sks as sniper weapons at the moment. Saw some vice news footage. Field expedient at its best.

I regularly shoot BALLOONS at 200yrds. (zombie head shot?)
with more than one sks, assorted steel cased ammo and iron sights...
shim(tight stock), trigger job helps.
on one i run cheap receiver cover scope mount(s), tapped (mount & receiver) where receiver pin goes,
returns (3 scopes) to zero, solid mod! shoots palm sized balloons at 200yrds

SKS is definitely capable of hitting targets past 100m, no doubt about it. I've done it, most people who shot SKS done it. I keep putting money in my tactikool bulid. Thing is, I'm not trying to build a platform that I can use to hit targets past 100m, I have SVT or other rifles for that :) I'm trying to build versatile CQB'ish thing that offers a lot of training with a lot of bang for buck thing.
