Was there an AK47 in .223? Was it officially imported into Canada ?

Ellwood Epps used to have 2 for sale on their website a few years ago. Not sure if they still have them if they sold them, or if they had them destroyed because of their betrayal of the gun community to work with the Liberals, but you could always give them a call and ask. Both were Norinco.

The Polytech/norinco type 84s-1 is the only one that comes to mind, nice guns
Yup

A buddy of mine in my Platoon had one. Sold it before he went to Australia in something like 91?

Sadly not to me, as I owned a nice Hungarian FEG AKM at the time.

I agree. Nice rifles…

I had an 84s. The front sight was canted about 4 degrees left of center🤦‍♀️.
Other than that it operated just fine.
A couple of thousand rnds through it with no major issues.
I sold it for more than i paid for it.

used one in africa but i was not impressed by the magazines but it is possible that it was related to the not so good ammo we got with them, and i think we got back to the regular chinese 7.62 with romanian ammo.

I know AKS made a 5.45x39 AK but I cannot find any info on a .223 AKS rifle? Does anyone have info on such an AKS in .223/ If you do post it her or PM me.

you mean a SKS in .223? a pretty short search will show up .223 AKs or 5.56 nato. they have never been out of production.

Century Arms used to sell a Romanian WUM-3, which was an ak in 223. They adapted German bakelite mags in 5.45x39 for 223 caliber by grinding off an inch off mag lips, but those didn't feed that well

Early 2000s, I remember being trained on a 223rem version AK47 while waiting for the ones in 7.62x39 to show up.

How do they shoot ?
