Was this a good buy ? (Pre 64 winchester)

In my mind you over paid... but if you are keeping it to shoot, then it is worth what you were willing to pay... in the past year, I have bought three pre-64's (.30/30 X 2, .32 special), all in excellent condition, all under $475.
Since you are asking for opinions I'll give you mine,I think you did OK on that rifle judging from the photos only,appears to be in pretty nice shape.What really matters though is how you feel about it.Are you happy with it,that is what you need to ask yourself.
The ones I bought all came off the EE in similar condition and all under $475... so if you are willing to wait and watch you can buy them cheaper than $600... compared to post 64's they are a much nicer gun... and as a keeper/shooter are worth the money.
How much did you pay for your camera?
Looks like some pitting on the trigger and lever but the pictures are not very good so it's hard to say......

If you want to feel better about it... if you hadn't bought it at six bills, someone down the road probably would have... but it may have taken awhile... the problem with 94's are there were millions made, so they are just very common... supply & demand always reigns supreme.
And it is a dandy 94... enjoy.

It looks like it's in excellent shape - nice one! If you paid $50 too much big hairy deal. I find it funny how gun guys like to grind each other for a lousy fifty - turns into this Indian trading game or something...

As a Winchester collector I'm with Hoyt, you paid 100 - 150 bucks too much........the 50s models don't fetch what the earlier ones do, with the longer wood ahead of the barrel band. The nice thing you did for the rest of us though is you have helped drive the price of pre 64 Winchesters up. Keep it, shoot it, and enjoy it and inflation will catch up with you in 5-7 years would be my guess. So keep it for 10 years and sell it for 700..........

Iphones aren't too bad but there are a few tricks such as touching the screen where you want it to focus and read the light levels for the exposure.
Natural light is usually easier then using on board flashes for gun shots too.

You know what, 600's still a cheap gun. For something made six decades ago, proper made in USA goods, I think you did just swell even if you could have shaved a hundred and one fifty off. The stuff many shops sell for the same now is made in Japan, yours is a real deal Winchester. Enjoy it and hunt it well.

Exactly!! Look at the pieces of crap people are shelling out more than $600 for these days. The OP paid top price for the 94 but it will appreciate and faster than you think. The Jap stuff WILL NOT.
