It is entirely possible and wouldnt be the first time someone has build a swordpistol in history. They were quite common with flintlocks, well not common but more so than other types of guns.

Cheers, McLean

Doesn't look functional to me. Mag release is gone and so is trigger. Just an unusual handle on a sword. Bubba had a Jap cousin.:D

Grizz

The tang of the blade is in the mag housing and out the ejection opening. This pistol wouldn't have fired. The pic on top is to show you what it started life as. Note the angle of the scabbard mouth and the blade at the top of the pistol. This thing would have been a nightmare to wield in the first place. I suspect it was owned by someone that wasn't too involved in Banzai charges.

The sword-blade tang looks to be taking up the mag well; it would have to in order to have any strength.

Entire firing mech is missing from the pistol.

It's a fancy sword-handle made up from pistol.

Entirely possible that it was used.

Neat.

Wish I had the Baby Nambu. Apart from the ammo problem (rare), one should be fun!

Actualy the Webley bayonets are not funny. Imagine you are in a trench raid at zero datk thirty. You have just fired all six rounds and it's time to reload, BUT there are still germans who don't want you there. Did I mention its pitch black in a narrow trench?

Now the funny one is people imagining the shoulder stock is for a revolver instead of a Webley Flare pistol.
