The Staff shooting

http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/Houndly/2008 WSIDPAC/Staff Favorites/?albumview=grid

Choose slide show for the best viewing. All the stages were well dressed up and fun to shoot. Aside from a few brain cramps that cost me big time I was pleased with my shooting. Temperature was over 100F for both days of the shoot (The staff shot on Friday).

For those who attended the BC Provincials this summer you will find our friend 81 year old Roy Van Riper shooting in a couple of the photos. What a great guy! He says he is coming back next summer.

"Hot? Come on, Bob, it never got above 93."

Ah, as the MD sits under the cool shade of the waving cedar trees watching Bob and Bill do their thing in Stage 1 & 2. Man was that pit warm. Bill and I drank four quarts of water on Saturday and never stopped for a whiz.

Great time to be sure and one of the best Sanctioned matches held.

For Canadian IDPA shooters this shoot should be at the top of your list as a must attend. You won't meet a better bunch of guys and gals nor experience such a wide variety of stages held true to defensive shooting.

Practice shooting drop and disappearing targets. Major tip: Don't shoot the popper activator with only one round in your gun. As Rick said to me as we went to score the targets, "you aren't going to like this one":D

Well here are the Noth West gang after the shoot.

L-R Rob Wolfe Area Coordinator Oregon, Washington and Alaska
Me
Rick Breneman Match Director and President of the NWPPA
Sandy Wilie Past Area Coordinator Oregon, Washington and Alaska

Sandy spent the day delivering water to the SO's. Rick and Rob kept the match running smoothly, answering questions from the shooters and calls for rulings from the SO's.

Best quote of the Day, "I am behind cover" spoken while shooter was shooting on Stage 1. "Oh my foot" as the same shooter accepts the procedural on Stage 1

PS The Staff Hats are Carribean Blue not Robins Egg Blue like you might think. Rumour has it Rick is colour blind but nobody wants to confirm it because they don't want the job of ordering the staff hats! Much improved over last years Hot Pink which were ordered as Red. Poor Rick.
