Waterfowl, and water

If the water that is still around and the numbers of chicks, goslings, signets, etc etc are any indication of what will be, this is going to be a good fall hunting.

There is still a hell of a lot of water around, much more than this time last year. It isn't overly hot and lots of food...high numbers of youngens swimmin around...

I've seen a ton of goslings swimming around. Either the Fall season will be awesome or the pike will be well fed.

Yep seen a few goslings already pretty early, and been hearing from others the same thing. We were actually putting in a new blind and a pair came and was 10 feet off the water before they landing in our field 100 feet away. Nice to see.

Started to see them in the GTA as well. Looks like a good year for breeding here, every constrution puddles has a pair on there.

Yup, have to agree the ducklings and gosling numbers are high.

The six month old pup is finding them everywhere.

Amazing how one day old ducklings near water can use evasive tactics to avoid the inexperienced young dog from catching them.
