Wayne Newton’s Model 31 TC....

Rather than derail the Rem 870 thread off the rails any further (sorry OP) I figured I’d post a new thread as the last derail led to a discussion or comparison on the Model 31 which reminded me of a very famous entertainers trap gun. Many probably don’t know Wayne Newton was an avid trapshooter at one time and his gun of choice was a Remington Model 31TC that he had engraved in various colours of gold embellishment commenerating the Las Vegas lifestyle that he lived. 3Macs1 might find this an interesting piece if he hasn’t already seen it?

I don't know. I think my friends would laugh at me if I owned something like that. Nice as far as art work but a little tacky for a gun. Just my opinion.

I agree totally but we are talking about a career Las Vegas entertainer. Kind of suits it’s owner. Nothing is more tacky or cheesy than Vegas entertainers! ;)

And look at the engravers name on the bottom of the gun....looks like Angelo Bee? If so I wonder what he thought about engraving these images? He is known for some incredible masterpieces, I guess sometimes a fellow just needs to take in work to pay the bills?!! :p

good catch.

Considering It is Wayne Newton's gun it is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, and the Las Vegas theme fits. I really love the figure in the wood and on the receiver as well.

Custom engraved guns are a reflection of ones personality, likes, dislikes etc and though I don’t know the history of the gun I’d say it’s a reflection of the owners personality and conveys his feelings of the town that provided his lifestyle and livelihood. I have mixed feelings in that the engravings are a bit tacky but at the same time cool in what they are conveying. And of course it’s a REAL true blue iconic quality Remington!!

well said. Although tacky in my opinion there is no denying that the workmanship and artistry in the engraving is second to none.

Had the chance to shoot a couple of rounds of trap in Las Vegas, in the late 90's. I remember that a lot of the shooters were members of some type of inter-casino league. Most of them wore vests with the logo of their casino, at practice. Had myself a good chuckle when a tumbleweed rolled across the shooting line. I visited is February and the previous week I had shot intercounty in minus 10 C weather....
