Wby Vanguard Can a Series 2 trigger group be used on a Series 1 Vanguard

I recently purchased a used Series 1 Weatherby Vanguard in .308. The trigger is heavy and gritty even when the trigger weight is adjusted to its lowest level. I have read that the Series 2 two stage trigger is quite good. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap out a Series 1 trigger group with a Series 2 trigger?

I put in a Timney trigger on my Series 1 270. It fits the both the Series 1 and Series 2. One would think Vanguard Series 2 should fit on Series 1. Why not get the Timney trigger instead.

IIRC the new S2 trigger will work fine on the Series 1 rifles.

Thanks guys. I may end up getting a Timney. At this point I am looking to see what my options are.
