WC844 for 7.62X39

Has anyone here used WC844 to reload 7.62X39? I would be using 123 Hornady FMJ bullets and Hornady brass cases. I have used the surplus powder successfully for reloading 223 but nothing else. Would like to use it for the Russian but can't find any info.

I have used it. It is sold commercially as H335.

123gr with 31 gr 2400 fps

150 gr with 29 gr 2100 fps

So WC844 is the same as H335. Is WC845 just a "fast lot" of H335?

Where does one buy surplus powders? I know Higginsons use to carry W735.

844 is H335 846 is BLC2

They are same recipe. fast lots are called 844. Slow lots are 846.

I don't think either uses CaC2 any more.

I still have some WC845 and I do recall that it was also listed as "5% faster then H335". The only thing else that I recall was Higginsons saying that WC735 was "More energetic" than WC845, whatever that means.

Right! 5% faster but higher velocity with the 735, I remember that now that you mention it.
