I see on the IAA forum that Tony Edwards, who used to post here as TonyE has passed away. He was the authority on 303, including haven written the book on it. Sadly another wealth of knowledge lost.

I too, saw that today. He really was a gentleman and was not only an expert on .303 ammo, but anything UK/Commonwealth related, his knowledge will be missed a lot.
RIP Tony.

I will certainly miss those e-mails from one of the most knowledgeable experts on British Military Small Arms. Another good one has left the Range.
.

A really good bloke, will miss you Tony.
An authority and expert in his field but always had time to explain and talk about things without talking down to you.

My sympathy to family and friends.

We all will miss his input.

What many do not know is that not only did he know a huge amount himself, he also was the inheritor of the notes, papers and collection of the late Major Peter Labbett, himself the author of a long list of highly-specialised, fantastically-compressed, utterly authoritative little books, nearly all of them impossible to obtain if you waited too long to order. And so we are cut off from TWO great sources of dead-correct information, and in a very short time.

Tony Edwards will be missed by many more than who can possibly sign this page.

Farewell..... and Godspeed, sir!

Oh no! Whenever there was a thread on .303 ammo, TonyE usually contributed and you didn't have to read too many of his posts to know that he was one hell of a knowledgeable individual.
An absolute shame.

RIP Tony, tomorrow's after-school Friday pint will be for you.
