weasel trapping

Are they even worth anything anymore? No mention of weasels/ermine in the Manitoba trappers guide. I haven never seen as many this year as well. Used to catch them with rat traps when I was a kid. Got about $1.25 per.

Yeah weasels in winter are called ermine and are more valuable in their white coat over the red one. interestingly enough seen one running down a grid road last week

We had one live with us for about a week in a cabin north of White River one winter, amusing little guy. Wore out his welcome when he crawled into my bed one night. Quite the ruckus chasing him out with a broom and flashlight, my buddies thought I had finally snapped.

Actually, Stoats that have their white winter coats on are called ermine.... weasels, although similar, are different.......

I think in the fir world stoats/ermine are more valuable than weasel..... but I could be wrong....

I'd love to have a pet weasel! They are so playful and cute looking!....sadly they also have needle sharp teeth for eating mice, chipmunks, squirls, voles, moles, shrews, etc. Don't kill too many! You'll be over run with rodents next year!
Ya a rat trap, or snare loop the size of a quarter/loony

You likely do not wanted to trap your ermine / weasels, believe me. They feed primarily on rodents, especially mice, and if you have a lot of them it's because you also have a lot of rodents.

A good friend is a trapper, and had a lot of Ermine around his place. He trapped a bunch, and says, "Last time I'll do that! Used to have weasels, now I have mice the size of weasels!". Anywhere with a high weasel population, there's a reason... and the weasels are a lot friendlier to have around, some people here try and encourage weasels to hang around.

Make sure you don't nick the scent glands or your in for a special treat!!
When I was a kid I use to cut small holes in the ends out of a beer box; then set 110 conibear or #0 leg hold. This seemed to attract them very quick.
