Except for the detachable mag, it's the same rifle as any other SS Savage. You can expect excellent accuracy right out of the box. Savage rifles are like that.
Extra mags are expensive though. Friggin' things start around $60Cdn.
Has 1 in 9.25 rifling, so it'll prefer heavy bullets. 85 grains and up.

I have a 16FCSS in 300WSM. Shoots like a laser. I also have a 11FCYXP3 in 243 (essentially the same action/barrel blued on a shorter stock) for the kids and it gives me 1 1/2" groups at 200 yds and I am by no means a good shot.

I have one in 243 and haven't got it sighted in just the way I want it yet but my sister who has never shot a gun, cept a 22 a couple times, was shooting 1" groups with her first couple goes at it

I have the flss lefty in 22-250 accutrigger/stock and i just love this rifle.Mine has the hinged floorplate which i love.

I just bought one in a 300 wsm and took it out for some shooting today and all I can say say is Im very impressed. It grouped 3 shot groups into 1/2 inch with my first handloads of IMR 4350 and 165 Accu-bonds. I just traded of a Sako Finnlight in in 30-06 that would shoot just as good but cost me $1000 more.
I bought the rifle used from Epps mail order and my only complaint about the gun is I was sent a bunk mag. One mag will work fine with 3 rounds where the other will only work with 2.
Although the rifles actions are some what rough, the stock feels really cheap the thing just plain shoots and I have no worries if I scratch the stock or metal as I only paid $400 for the gun.

Cheers!!

very tempted to buy a Savage with accustock.... dunno what holds me back.

They aint that pretty but they have metal mags, and trigger guards and almost all shoot better then rifles costing 3x the amount. Ive got over 100 buys and sells on the board here, most being rifles. Ive owned Sako, Cooper, Rem, Weatherby, Winchester ect... and can honestly say the Savages have been the most consistant tight grouping rifles of the mix.

Go buy one ;)

I was told no `smithing required on these Accustocks to get them to shoot great.... I have a Leup VX3 waiting for a new home and some friends just laughed when i mentioned putting it on a Savage. Id love to see some pictures of peoples Scopes / Savage w. accustock setups

As soon as I get a new computer (gotta replace my burnt out laptop) I will post some pics. I took some on my blackberry but uploading them and posting pics sounds too complicated to do on a phone.

.243

I recently shot a freinds in 243 with the accutrigger and accustock. Factory ammo shot into a dime at 100 meters. I was impressed. I don't own a Savage yet but I will.

A buddy bought a .338 /116 with an accu-stock and accu-trigger.Out of the box 1/2 three shot groups till the cows come home..........73.5 gr RE19 225gr Hornady.....Harold.............cheapest Cabela's Winnepeg

I think Frontier had the best deals going on savages...unless it was a promo. I paid $399 for my 11FYCXP3 youth combo from them + $25 for shipping.
