weatherby 338-378 change magazine setup.

Hi all,

I am purchasing a weatherby 338-378, and I would like to change to a fully detachable magazine. Who sells a replacement kit for this?

I believe Weatherby offers a magazine extender that will increase capacity from 2 to 3 rounds in the 378 case family.
This of course would not satisfy the need for a detachable magazine or more capacity.
You may have to look at detachable magazines for the 338 lapua and have it fitted to the MKV .
I would contact one of the manufacturers ( Wyatt etc. )of 338L size bottom metal and mags , and ask if their product can be used for the 338/378.

I found this when I was toying with the idea of overhauling my 338 lapua. No idea if it's even possible to get it into Canada, I sold the gun before getting into it.

Have you tried the Weatherby Web site?
Do they offer such a piece of kit or was this something you read or seen else where?

So far, the weatherby website shows detachable magazine setups for the Vanguard line. But I will call them on Monday to double check.
