Weatherby detachible mag.?

Hi, it's just about time to buy a new gun, just cause and I would consider a weatherby cartridge, but I want a detachable mag. Now I don't want to start the "clip" or "floor plate" debate, it is just my preference.

So my question is, is there a planned launch of a 270 weatherby mag., or 300 weatherby mag. detachable system for the vanguard and if so does anyone know when?

Last I heard, Weatherby offers a detachable mag system for the magnum mark V. I'd expect it to run $400 or more if still available

All they have on their website is one for 25-06,270,30-06, caliber in a Vanguard for $89us and and extra mag for $39us. The mag looks like a Tikka T3 or Sako A7.

This is a hot topic on Weatherbynation so maybe Weatherby will address it some day. They currently only offer and extended floorplate. I am fabricating a detachable mag. for my own .257 Ultra light. We'll see how it works out.

Last year I saw on Weatherby's website that they were offering a clip conversion kit for the vanguard line (HOWA action) but it was for Short Action cartridges only.

Its out for the Vanguard, I have one on order for my 257 WBY , cost $119

I have a detachable Mag on my Sako. .30-378 WBM

It's a Sako M995 (TRG-S) and the rifle was available in a number of WBY chamberings. However, I do believe that Sako isn't making the TRG-S anymore, but it may be worth a check on the forums as it's a very well put together rifle.

Weatherby Mags

Weatherby is manufacturing a retrofit kit for the Vanguard in 25-06, 30-06 and 270 (about $99). They will also be manufacturing the Vanguard with detachable clip in the same calibers this year.
