Weatherby Fan's

I like the cartridges, but not necessarily the rifles. I have early 60's German made MkV in 300 Wby though, 1.5-6x Zeiss-Hensoldt in claw mounts on top, nice rifle. I also shoot a Win 70 in 270 Wby that I got from Dave Echols, a Rem 700 with a Ron Smith gain twist barrel in 340 Wby. A Model 70 in 7mm Wby, a custom Mauser in 257 Wby, and a custom P14 in 375 Wby. Good cartridges all. - dan

Those are very nice, i dont own any Wheatherby but i should have at least one... Making me think here... JP.

Made a little reading sound like a 257 Wheatherby Mag could be a real fun rifle to reload for.... still have some reading to do... JP.

If they fit you, the guns are awesome. I know a few guys who've bought Vanguards in .300 Wby and restocked with a premium stock, MOA all day long and a ton of horsepower to boot.

Myself, I love my .257 Wby.

My .300 Weatherby Lazermark with Weatherby Premier 3x9 scope.Would like an ultralight next.

I'm nearing the end of my hunting days and after going through hundreds of guns, if I had to start again I would just buy a collection of nice wood stocked Mark V's and use them. Just can't stand that Stainless Synthetic crap anymore.

For an off the shelf gun they fit me pretty good. I love the Weatherby lines and super smooth action. I wondered if it would be better to like Ruger as you can get 2 or 3 for the same price. If I did it again I might do lever guns instead. Definitely not stainless and plastic.

Not a fan of heavy, hyped, over priced rifles with funny looking cartridges. That said, the Vanguards are nice and the .300 and .257 are classics. The Lasermarks are plain cheesy IMO.
For the money, I would by a Cooper when it comes to production rifles that have nice woo and are a little heavy.

The Weatherby Chamberings are fine.
The rifles leave me absolutely cold.
Particularly the radical stock design [Earmark of Weatherby Rifles]
I happen to be a diehard fan of the "Classic" stock design, so those Weatherby stocks are somewhat of an abomination to me.
However, to each his own. Regards, Eagleye.

Seems with Weatherby's there's not much middle ground; either like 'em of hate 'em. I guess I fall into the "like 'em" category.

These are mine; from the top- .378 custom shop, .340 Euromark, .30-378 in H.S stock, .300wby ULW, .270wby ULW, .240 ULW, .243 carbine in ULW stock.
