Weatherby Pa- 459?

Got one in black. Nice gun. Rails and a fiber optic sight.

The only gripe I have is when loading the the gun my thumb gets caught while pushing the shell in.

Its made in Turkey for Weatherby by Hatzen.I have one it functions flawlessly. Its allot cheaper than a Bennelli.

took a chance on one and absolutely love it. I've put over 1500 rounds through it without a single issue. Wish I could say the same about my 887, or even the 870.
For the money, I've been overwhelmingly impressed and would totally recommend one.

Good shotgun, had one and it was quite cool. Short LOP, ghost rings and will cycle anything you put into it.

Great shotgun. Similar to my Hatsan MP. Very lightweight shotgun too. Good for carrying, but maybe not recoil?

putting back up this thread :)

great shotgun, ghost sights, quality shotgun, adjustable rear sight, great pistol grip, removeable choke tube; , when sighting, the angle is just natural ....way better than many shotguns out there....., I prefer this one way over the Rem. Blackhawk spec. op. II that I had, way more confortable.

the PA-459 is even more smoother than a 870 (the newer models) and or a Mossberg !!

only thing is accessories......, I would love to find a heat shield that fit this model.....

So overall Weatherby/Hatsan shotguns aren't to be avoided despite what the 590/870 crowd would say?

Anything in particular to make them stand out?

Weatherby and Hatsan are made by 2 different manufacturers they are 800km from each other. The maker that makes Weatherbys has one of the best reputations in Turkey. His domestic brand has been voted Turkish best pump action for the past 10 years

I think your imagination is running wild... I've never heard bad things about Weatherby/Hatsan's from anyone. Pretty well respected brands and most Moss/Rem guys know it.

My only gripe with them is that they look like something the original Starbuck and Apollo took off a Cylon...

And how could that be a bad thing?

I would give my left nut for someone to manufacture Han Solo's "blaster" or a Stormtrooper's rifle. I'm not talking about mucking up an original Broomhandle or Sterling either.

I've only ever seen it in context of people who refuse to buy things unless they're made in the US.
I admit neither myself nor anyone I have ever talked to, or read about on this site, have anything bad to say about them and if you tell me they're solid then that's good enough for me.

Good to know! Thanks for bringing in so many great guns. I've been wondering about a Hatsan and should probably just get one for myself since they're affordable and have a good reputation. Sometimes I guess I'm just slow to try things I haven't seen once before already.

hey guys, seeing all this talk about this particular shotgun made me think it would be a good place to ask nicely: does anyone know a source where I can buy a replacement rear sight? the ghost ring busted off in my case during transporting it. I liked that sight too. I found others like it, but cost big bucks *sigh*. Yes I can shoot a shotgun without the back sight, but really that's missing out on a lot of accuracy. I tried out my eotech on it one lovely afternoon and it was as perfect as can be... but I don't shoot the shotgun nearly as much as my AR (that's currently sporting it... classily might I add)

I have a PA-08 (as well as an older Winchester featherweight and a 20 something year old 870).

Compared to any shotgun on the market today under about 600 or 700 bucks, the fit and finish on the Weatherby is miles ahead. I assemble shotguns for retail sales and to get something that goes together as well (fit/tolerance) as the Wby's you need to be looking at a Wingmaster or a BPS. The 870 Express and 500/535 Mossy's in particular seem like they are a collection of mis-matched parts in comparison. The SXP (Win) is considerably better than either but still not as (fine) as the Wby.

And in the wood stocked models you CAN put a Wby side by side with 870 Wingmaster and the only visible difference is the 400 extra bucks on the Rem's pricetag.

I am a fan and if I was in the market for another shotgun with a pricetag under 800 bucks or so I wouldn't look too much further than any of the Wby models.
