weatherby sa 08 20 gauge recoil?

My wife had a wooden stocked Weatherby PA08 in 20ga that had very little recoil using 3inch steel 2's so I would assume the semi auto version would be even slightly less.

I would think ( I have been wrong once before), that a 12 ga with 7/8 oz load will kick the same as a 20 w/ a 7/8 load.

The 12 gauge gun is usually heavier, as a result, the felt recoil on the 12 is less. I have a Beretta 390 12 and a 391 20 and there is no comparison. The 20 is actually quite snappy in the recoil department.

The 12 gauge SA 08 weighs about 3/4 lbs more than the 20 gauge version, so physics would have me believe that recoil will be less with the 12 gauge, if the payload and velocity is the same.
