Weatherby SA-08 not cycling.

Need some input from those more knowledgeable on semi-auto shotguns than me.

I have a Weatherby SA-08 semi-auto in 12ga. I bought it used so I don’t know the actual round count. I’ve put around 2000 target loads through it and around 300 hunting loads through it without any issues. Lately it failed to cycle on 2 3/4” #4 1400FPS hunting loads. I am using the heavy valve in the gun. I can shoot 3” and the gun will cycle as usual. Both shells are Federal and were being shot the day before without issue. I’ve cleaned the shotgun and it still fails to cycle the 2 3/4”. There is not partial cycling or jamming occurring and I ca manual cycle the gun.

Any thoughts?
 
If it cycled the loads the day before and suddenly won't anymore then cleaning and/or lubing comes to mind first. You say that you have cleaned it but have you removed the bolt and cleaned the receiver? Most semi's will need a good cleaning after 2000 rounds and it doesn't take a lot of crud to slow down a semi to the point of not cycling.
 
I did clean the receiver and bolt but now that I’m home I’ll strip it down and give it a good going over. Hoping it’s that simple. Thx for your input.

I wonder if it's just the springs and everything has just finally "broken in" and you need to use the light gas piston now for the target loads?

My other suggestion would be to pay extra attention to the gas port, it may be narrowed from carbon buildup or have some debris there and not letting as much gas by to cycle the action.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated. Pulled the gun completely apart and cleaned and lubed everything. Definitely needed a “deep clean”. It will be awhile before I get to shooting field loads through it but I’ll get it out on the clay range shortly.
