weatherby sa08 stock adjustment?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi gun nutz,
The stock on my Weatherby semi needs more angle. When I shoulder it I have to lower my eye/head about 2" to sight the top of the barrel. Soo I wonder, are there shims I could install to correct the angle between the stock and receiver? any one know where or how?
As I type this I am thinking I did not check the store I bought it from so please excuse me if they are easy to get.

I don't know the answer to that, but these guys on Shotgunworld seem to have looked into it:

I should also mention that 2" seems like an impossibly high number (it may seem like 2", but it's probably much less). If you really need to increase the Drop at Comb by that much, I doubt that shims will be enough.

Another option is to have an adjustable comb installed in the stock. If you go this route, make sure the stock maker knows what DAC range you need when it's finished.

I doubt it's going to be 2" as that would be huge. Maybe 1/8" of an inch? Take it to a smith and have them take a look at your mount and they should be able to do some stock work for you.

Maybe I am a giraffe!! It seems to be a lot. I have an Escort O/U that seems to be just about right. I will stand them up against the wall together to check the difference tonight. Thanks for the info, I will check out that site straightshooter.
Thanks
