I am thinking of buying one of these from a friend.I briefly looked it over but could see no model #.It is a 28 inch 3" bbl c\w 3 screw in choke tubes.It is super lightweight and is stocked synthetic real-tree pattern.He has the box too but it does not really say a model either.It is made in Italy and is fairly new.What kind of reputation do these have and who made\makes them?thanks.

Weatherby has used many suppliers for their shotguns, currently I believe they are made by Fausti Stefano in Italy.

I believe the model of your shot gun is SAS apparition excel. these were italian made and like the new sa-08 the chokes are interchangeable with Briley. Although it is just a guess without a picture

Briley makes chokes for many firearms and probably this weatherby, but they are not all interchangable.

oops sorry I just used the exact wording in the 2007 catalogue.

Well then, I guess that the catalog is misleading. I know that Briley offers a specific choke for this firearm and maybe even manufactures the chokes that come with the firearm. To say that they are interchangeable with Briley period is just wrong period. Briley makes just too many chokes for too many firearms for your statement to be true.

Not a single issue with it and I worked her hard...

I really regret ever selling it.
