Who has some experience with Weatherby ULWs in standard cals. 270 30/06 ect. They've been arround for a while but I don't know anyone who owns one.

Thanks Guys

I have the 257 UL. It shot to weebees 1.5" promise. I had it floated and bedded and it shoots half that now. I can only imagine a shorter barrel in the non mag calibers would shoot better. I have always loved the feel of weebees, but didnt like the weight. My 257 UL solved the weight problem.

Have 3 of them and like 'em alot (obviously) A bit on the spendy side new but good deals can be had; picked up my .300Wby for $1200 with one box thru.

The 6-lug version for standard calibers is truly a pleasure to hunt with. They are very light and come to the shoulder and point very naturally. My .240Wby has become a favorite as of late and will be my go to gun for this years deer hunting.

I currently have 2 in the standard caliber (6 lug) action. One shoots very well, the other shoots respectively. I am restocking one as we speak, and it should end up right around 5 1/4lbs - not bad for a 24" barrel, long action, and floorplate.
