weatherby vanguard backcountry (any reviews)

I've never shot one but I did play with one just before I bought my Howa. Seemed like a nice rifle, it was veerry light weight, lighter than I would want to shoot. The stock was nice enough that I wouldn't mind putting one on my Howa.

The vanguard is actually made by Howa for weatherby.

Just picked one up a couple weeks ago in 300wby. After some concern over recoil, I found it not too bad at all. Fired off more than a few shells getting it sighted in...(had to redo the bases etc). And not even a slight discoloration of the shoulder...shooting with a tshirt only. The gun just seems to fit.

Got some fine tuning to do regarding sighting in...but so far I am really liking the rifle...and the cartridge. I am seriously considering getting the accumark for next year...maybe even in 340wby.

The vanguards are the same action as the howa. They have a great tough bolt. The triggers are adjustable in both sear engagement and pull weight. Have 2 vanguard synthetics in stock config and one custom build. Love all 3.

I have one in a 30-06, got a great deal on it,
I love the Gun, already harvested a couple deer with it,
Im going to have it for many years!!!
