Weatherby Vanguard - first time out

Well I just got back from the range and am mad as h3ll! I wasn't expecting the package scope to be great but I did expect it to be able to hold a zero on a 243! It held elevation great. all shots were less then 1/2" at 100 yards, but windage was anywhere up to 4" left or right. One shot would be 3" left, then the next would be 4.5" right! I was so mad I even forgot to take pics.

I know. I think I'm madder at myself then Weatherby.

I assume you've checked the mounts?

Could be that simple.

I took them off, used blue locktite, and torqued them before I started.

Have you tried taking it back and exchanging the scope for another one? Maybe you got a bad one.

I will be doing that tomorrow. I'm sure they will make it right.
