Weatherby Vanguard in .375 H&H

Looks like a pretty good price point/entry level gun for those wanting a .375H&H .
Having owned 4 Vanguards in the past and currently an S2 these will be good shooters for the money.
Only draw back I can see is the weight of the gun in the 375H&H.

I see the 375H&H is feeling the pressure from the cost effective rifles chambered in the 375ruger.

Had to say it.

Just glad to see more people getting into the 375cal relm. whatever your flavor

Two stage trigger? Where do they think they are trying to market this thing? And I would have to get a better look at that rear sight...looks flimsy.

Wonder what the cost will be in Canadian dollars.

I'm gonna need one of these. Two favourites in one. If they bring it out in a Backcountry version, with the B&C stock and Cerakoted, it'll be even better.

I wonder if they are planning a wood version? Or a stainless version?I'd grab one if I wasn't already buried in .375s. Vanguards are very good rifles from a design point of view, and are guaranteed out of the box shooters.

Actually I don't think the 375 H&H is feeling any pressure at all, instead Weatherby is introducing the worlds most popular 375 in a nice package.... and yes I have a 375 Ruger in the 1500 Howa.... parent of the Vanguard...

The only Weatherby wholesaler that we deal with doesn't have it listed as a stock item yet and it wasn't included on the 2015 pre-order offerings.

Perhaps if you can find a dealer that deals directly with Wby you could get one this year, otherwise it may be on "2016" shelves.

On the Wby site they only list this with the synthetic stock but if it sells I can see them at least also stocking it in the Turkish Walnut that they use for the VGII Sporter models (which are pretty nice looking rifles).

Regardless of the introduction date, I'll be all over one.
My VGII is by far one of the most accurate out of the box factory rifles I have ever played with of any make...

I like the idea of a two stage trigger myself, but I do agree though with your assessment of the rear sight. A .375 fitted and used with irons only is likely to see hard use, so its no place for a flimsy sight. I'd expect it will cost about 30% more here, ($1039 CDN) and it might even quiet the .375 Ruger glee club. Once rechambered for .375 Ultra, it would be quite useful.:d

I'm not so sure.

Actually the Weatherby Vanguard 2 synthetic is $649 on Weatherby website but the average price for the same gun in Canada is $620, Vanguard Deluxe Weatherby price $1149, Canada average price $1050, Vanguard Back Country Weatherby price $1429, Canada average price $1280.

If it happens to land here for under $800 i'll be grabbing one for sure. Nice to see good things happening with the Vanguard line. Now, if only the make some 26 inch barrels!
