Weatherby Vanguard S2 or a Remington 700 VTR

So in Celebration of the deletion of the LGR, I am in the mood to add a new firearm to my collection of shooters. I am torn between 223 and 22-250. I have shot both, and each has their pros and cons; it's just the 22-250 has an extremely loud report. My ears are not sensitive, I regular shoot SKS, Mosin Nagant and Rem 30-06, plus oodles of 22lr. I have narrowed my search to the following; Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 or a Remington Model 700 VTR.
Please add your suggestions for make and caliber.

Yotes and training for my teenage boys, the Mosin Nagant and Rem 700 30-06 is a bit much for them.

I'd get the Remington 700, but not the vtr. I'd just get a heavy bbl as opposed to what i think is the weird triangular cut barrel.

My thoughts exactly. Don't go for a weird gimmick!
If you go with a Remmi get a laminate heavy barrel.

Get a Vanguard or better yet a cz.

Never been much of a Remmy fan, I'd pick the S2.

S2 all the way. Remington isn't getting anymore of my money.

.223 in the S2, it's a better action than a 700.
