Weatherby Vanguard Stainless Laminate $$$$$?????

Hey guys,

Ive got a Weatherby Vanguard Stainless, laminate made in japan. Its absolutely mint and has approx 40 rounds down the pipe. Its not the newer V2. I believe the vintage is approx 1997 ish.

Any idea what the reasonable sale price on the EE would be? Its .300 Win mag and comes with the Bushnell legend

Those Legends were made in the Philippines, bought several for $100 when they were discontinued.
Same rifle with blued metal is $600 at Sail.
Total package...$600-$650. The S1 trigger and 2 position safety are a downer.

Thanks man. I saw a sticker on the scope that said Japan and jumped the gun. It actually appears to be Chinese as I can see "China" under the rings.

Too bad only 650 on the whole rifle. I was hoping for more based on its condition.

New stainless V2 are going for 8-900$. So I'd guess 650 for yours. The EE is never predictable so ask what you want.

Scope might be pooched too with the rear ring over the erector like that. Eye relief is dismal on those scopes so a poor match for the 300Win.

The scope adds no value imo. Based on new pricing of the s2 (which has better trigger and safety) and this being a 20 yr old rifle, $600 would be a best quess.

Thanks for the reply guys. I just had this rifle given to me as is a couple days ago. Black rifles are my thing so I really dont know squat about these. So then I assume weatherby isnt like remington for example where the older models are better/ more desirable than new?

Still good rifles. No doubt about it. But the latest versions have improved on minor issues.Offer it up and see what happens. Ask $700 and see what comes. You'll need to know if it came under the recall on those earlier ones so you can inform the buyer. I had to send the bolt of one I bought off the EE to Legacy international in the US.

My earlier Vangard knee 1989 had the bolt recall notice.
Epps the warranty repair now?

Run the serial number thru Weatherby's site and see if it comes up.
