Well l finally got my Vanguard, 300 Weatherby blued synthetic, l put my Bushnell 3200 3x9x40 on top of Leupold rings and bases, rifle made in Japan, setup and out to the range. The factory target was about 1 1/2 in.
at 100 yards. Using factory Rem. ammo l was able to fine tune to .464 in.
at 100 yards, then about the same at 200. l am impressed with the rifles fit and finish, and the syn. stock fits me real well. For an inexpensive rifle the action is nice and smooth. Now that it's been fully set up with factory ammo, l wonder what's possible with re-loads. Next off to WMU 50 to hopefully find a Bull. Good hunting everyone. :D

The tune was a really good cleaning to start with, Laser bore site, and
then making sure ammo was in good shape. l usually only use Federal, but all that was available was Rem. Good scope and excellent rings and bases helps. l also used a good bench rest unit for sighting in. l purchased it at Gobals Sporting goods in London. Everybody has their own opinion, but l think it is an excellent rifle and very accurate for the money.
:D

.....that is very good accuracy for a 525.00 rifle !!! :D

Not at all surprising accuracy for a Howa-based rifle. Not at all!

Every one I have owned (5) or seen (quite a few) has shot into an inch easily. My 243 routinely shoots 5/8 or less. 8)

I am currently looking for one in 300 win Mag, if anyone knows where there is one.

Ted
