has anyone ever seen/fired/hunted with a Weatherby Whitetail deluxe? Apparently these rifles were made in the 60's or 70's and they were chambered for .250 Savage, I am sure they look just like a Weatherby but I have never seen or heard of them until I read an article in a magazine recently.

Also has anyone ever came across any floating around for sale?

Never saw one, but can only imagine it being a pig if it's a mark v. The standard mark v action wasn't around yet. If it was on a Howa action, it probably would have been a fancy vangaurd. But just guessing there.

It used the Varmintmaster action...the scaled down Mark V 6 lug short action that was available in 22-250 and 224 Weatherby.......it was lengthened a few years ago for the light weight Weatherbys in standard cartridges....

I've seen threads on the 250 Savage Whitetail version, have never seen one in the flesh, I imagine they are quite rare.

PS...the Mark V action has been around since 1958.

yeah, now that you mentioned it the article did say it was the varmint master action. I am sure they are a very rare find, I would like to get ahold of one though, maybe.

thanks for the info
