Weaver #2 side mount base - screw size?

All of my measuring tools are at work and I'm curious as to what size the four mounting screws are on a Weaver #2 side mount base. By eyeball they look like they may be #8-40 screws. I have an old Mossberg 151k .22LR that is drilled and tapped for a base, however, the base mounting screws won't start in the threads. The threads look to be a little chewed up in the receiver. They also look like they may be a little bit small but I can't be certain without the measuring tools...It may be an optical illusion based on the slightly damaged threads.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes, the Weaver #2 side mount comes with #8-40 screws. Lot's of #8-40 taps on ebay. Hope that helps.

Thanks a bunch! I'm sure I have a #8-40 tap in my toolbox at work. I wasn't about to drive 45 minutes just to find out though. I'm heading in this afternoon for my shift so I'll check then.
