I just picked a Nylon 66 that came with an old weaver B4 in a tip off mount on it. It’s kinda foggy but seems to function alright. I got the 66 because of the style of iron sights on it(I’m hoping I can still see these ones) and don’t really see myself using the weaver. My question for you guys that know more than I do about most things firearms related. Is there any collector value in these old weavers, are they worth anything as a shooter? Or is it best regulated to the shelf as a conversation piece?

Thanks

There are collectors out there but not much money in the old Weaver scopes. The ones that bring value are the old sniper scopes. I do see some prices coming up though as with a lot of things firearms related. -Bill

I probably have 20 of them as I was once a Weaver collector. I usually see them at gun shows for $10-$20 but have paid up to $45 for one new old stock in box with papers etc. Where I find the market now is with collectors of older .22s that want period correct scopes. Also note that early Weaver (& 0ther scopes) came with the windage knob on the left side. Just check old ads!
