Weaver base vs Picatinny

Got a question...I have TPS picatinny rails...just ordered new TPS 30mm rings. While I am waiting their arrival grabbed a cheap set of weaver rings. They don't seem to tighten in flush like my tps rings! Is the shape and angles of the weaver rails different then picatinny rails????

Just lookin a little closer now with a flash light, and it looks as though perhaps the picatinny rails are slightly wider at the top???

Weaver rails are thinner.

The slots are slightly different also.

The rail is usually a thighter fit than the bases, every rifle i can if possible i will put a rail and also permit you to bring a back up red dot pre zero to that rifle in case you are not sure of your scope zero if you drop it or hit it... Cheers. JP.
