Weaver Grand Slam 3x10x40

Excellent price. It would be foolish to pass up on this scope especially when it is very close to on par with the VX III

I've never used a grand slam in hunting conditions, but unless you need the extra eye relief i think you'd be better off with that than a leupie 2. Personal opinion.

I would say the only saving grace on the Leupolds is: Weight, eye relief and resale. They have been around since the hills and to some people that is worth a pile. Weaver has changed hands I believe 2 times and they may even have had a small closure.

Leupold had to upgrade their Vari X II line to the VX II to keep up with the competiions offerings.

Weaver has a fast euro adjust eyepiece, semi target turrents (based on their T series adjustment system - superior to Leupold from a point of impact shift comparison), click adjustments.......Leupold has been playing catch up withe VX II and VX III.

Hey ### - nice website! I thought i'd seen all our dealers, don't know how i missed you along the way :)

At 200 bucks, resale probably won't be a hassle - but the eye relief thing is still one thing that leupold really stands out for. Just out of curiosity - what's the rifle the scope is going on?

I haven't fired one either but from what I read,,the recoil is acceptable at recommended loads all the way to "filling looseners" with hot loads..
95% of the guys on the Modern M/L sight recommend the heavier laminate stocked version to lessen recoil and improve balance & accuracy. It is muzzle heavy with the composite stock ( and likely kicks more as well.)

A friend of mine has that exact scope and has been very happy with it so far. Had it about a year on a 7mm. No problems to speak of as of yet, and for that price you cant go wrong.
