Hey guys,

I'm thinking about mounting a K6 on my 375 Taylor. I don't have any experience with this scope, so am unsure about what kind of eye relief it has. It will be mounted on a heavy recoiling rifle, so eye relief is important. The web says it has 3.25 inches.

Anyways if anyone has experience with these on a heavy kicking rifle, it'd be great if you could let me know how it worked/didn't work.

Cheers -Cameron

3.25" will hit you if you aren't careful...One more reason to go Leupold on a big rifle.

Big bores are very unforgiving toward cheap scopes.
If you can't afford a new Leupold buy a used Leupold...Better a used Leupold than a new cheap scope that will let you down.

Been there done that...The fogged up Bushnell is still in its box.

as much as I love the K6, it is not a big bore rifle scope. it lacks the eye relief you'll need. they are fantastic, bombproof, bright, value priced scopes, but just not the thing for a big thumper ( a great scope for that steven's .25-06 of yours)

for a .375 CT I'd be looking at a Leupold 2-7x33

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. That was exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. The old Vari X III 3.5x10 I had on the 375 just called her quits on me, so I need to look for another scope. I already had nicked myself a few times with the Vari X, so wanted to see if there was something with a tad bit more eye relief.

Cheers -Cameron

I don't have a receipt or anything for it. Will that still work?

No receipt necessary, lifetime transferable warranty, no questions asked. They'll fix it good as new. But you can still get a new one if you want.:)

X2 on the 2-7x33

That would be why I suggested a used Leupold!

I have a 3.5-10 on a 375 Ultra...Works fine for my crappy eyes. I am mainly running this scope for load development.

I also have a 1.5-5X Leupold ready to go on...The best hunting scope for a 375 (in my opinion).

Unless the housing is damaged, they will likely repair your old one. However, it will only be old on the outside. Its new inside, where it counts.:D

Well that makes this a heck of a lot easier then. The tracking on the scope is all buggered and it won't hold a zero, so I was ready to toss the thing in the garbage... VERY happy I didn't now.

Do you just mail the thing to the dealer in Okotoks with a letter stating what's wrong with it?

Yep.

.375 scope

Ok...since were spending Hansol's money, how about a Leupold 1.75-6? I have a 1.5-6 Elite 4000 on my .375 Taylor. Gives me enough eye relief and has rubber ring on eye piece just in case. Weaver K6 is a nice scope, but wouldnt recommend for your .375.

Do they send you a new one, or just repair your old one?
My VariX lll 1.5x5 couldn't be repaired so they sent me a new one.
Send it directly to Korth but I would phone first. This contact info is a year or so old but may still be correct.

The 1.5-5X is very good as is the 1.75-6X. When I was overseas I used a M-70 with a 2.5-8X, that also worked nicely on the .375. A pal of mine has the VX-7 1.5-6X with a 30mm tube on his Ruger Alaskan, and it has the advantages of pop up turrets for quick adjustments from one load to another, but it is an expensive scope. He is a pro photographer, so doesn't feel fulfilled unless he spends stupid money on glass.

That's what sits on my CT. I would be just as happy with a 1.5x5 or a 1.75x6

Why mess around with an old/obsolete vintage scope when you'll be farther ahead with a modern Leupold with good eye relief and a great guarantee?

I ALMOST didn't get the first deer I shot because of an old Weaver that didn't give very good performance at dusk. I'd vowed "Never again with cheap/old scopes".

.

Well thanks for all the input guys. After getting everyones opinions, I reckon I'm going to snag a Leupold fixed 6x for the Taylor, and use the weaver 6x on the 25-06. I had always heard the Weavers are a bargain, but if the eye relief isn't there, then it isn't worth getting scope-eye to find out.

And I'll send my old leupold into the shop and see if they send me a new one. Can't hurt anything, as I'll only be out a few dollars shipping.
