I have on my 1916 SMLE No.1 Mk III a Parker hale BA24 base mount and was using RAHS.3 scope mounts, but one was damaged. I think I would prefer to get a weaver/picatinny rail to mount scopes on it, but looks like the only thing that might work for a base would be the B-Square BSQ-18565 which doesn't appear to be in production. Would I be best off getting just another RAHS.3 mount or are there other options for mounting a weaver/picatinny base to it?
The BA24 base has two screw holes at the rear of the base that are side by side, and then two holes at the front of the base that are in-line with the barrel.
Edit: This is on a sporter also, so I will not be ruining a collectors piece.
