I wasn't sure if this would be more appropriate for the optics section or here, but i figured i'd start with the gunsmiths first.
A while back i got one of those fibre optic vomz dot sights from Martin at corwin arms that clamps onto a shotgun by sliding a plate through the rib and tightening the sight into the shotgun rail. This works fine as long as the gun has a rail to clamp it onto, but the gun i want to use it on the most just has the round barrel, no rib.
It does however have a rail on top of the receiver that you could use, but i don't know if such an adapter exists. It would basically be a small section of shotgun rib with a ring base attached or cut out of the bottom of it to lock into the rail on the receiver.
Has anyone ever seen such a thing, or would it be a one off that would have to be custom machined? My googling to try to find one hasn't come up with anything, but if someone knows of something that would work or could make one let me know.
