The VX-1's have 92% light transmission per lens element. While not top of the line, to put it in perspective, it uses the same lens coatings that the Pre-2003 Vari-X III scopes had. The Weaver has only slightly better light transmission at 94% per lens element. Something like a Vortex Diamondback has 91% light transmission per lens element. In the grand scheme of things, there isn't a significant difference between any of these as far as light transmission goes.
