Looking to get a Weaver RV-7 for my .22. Cannot seem to find them. ANy other lightweight 2-7 scopes that you can recommend? (apparently the leupold glass isnt that great for the price on there rimfire)

The VX-1's have 92% light transmission per lens element. While not top of the line, to put it in perspective, it uses the same lens coatings that the Pre-2003 Vari-X III scopes had. The Weaver has only slightly better light transmission at 94% per lens element. Something like a Vortex Diamondback has 91% light transmission per lens element. In the grand scheme of things, there isn't a significant difference between any of these as far as light transmission goes.

Good light transmission (98%) but they weighs about 1lb, which is double what the Leupold weighs... So not really a lightweight option. This is my biggest criticism of the Nikon Prostaff scopes... they're big and heavy. Same goes for the Diamondback.
