Has anyone used the fixed power 15X weaver scope ? How do they rate as compared to leupy's and are thet dependable ?

If you have a warranty issue is there a canadian depot to send them to or are you faced with the hassle of sending them to the states ?

Leupies have a freakin fan club. Should be a large difference in optics. Hardly anyone sells the Weaver around here and it seems everybody has the Leupies. Leupold is more comparable to Nikon, Zeiss, Burris high end etc. Is that a fixed 15x? Might be difficult to use. Anything I have seen in that magnification is variable. Allows you to locate your prey then focus up. My $0.02

I believe I've seen a weaver 15X fixed not variable. The scope would be for target use. Just wondering how they compare to leupy fixed powers.

Don't know how they compare...but I've had one on a varmint rifle for years and it has been great.

Incidently, few years back I changed rings or some damn thing and overtightened, dented the tube..:bangHead: , sent it back with explanation (sob story), and my credit card # to fix it...they sent me a new one, free!!!

Anyhow, it's still shooting gophers, and I'm looking for a Weaver 6X for a rifle currently being built.

I used to have an old fixed 10, I believe it was a "T" series, at any rate it was an excellent scope and was highly regarded by some of the more experienced shooters that I hung around. As Dan says it was an excellent value.

I have both if you can find a Elpaso made T model they great scopes had one for 25+ years and its been problem free I sent ot to TK Lee and had a 1/4"dot put in for hunter class shooting and use it all the time for working loads on many guns the T6 model I have is reported to be 7x+ power
You see them on ebay some time they are not cheap lot a fellows want them.http://cgi.ebay.com/Weaver-T-10-Tar...ryZ31714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They are decent scopes fer sure. I am looking for a K4 for my 1022. Part of the problem is finding the fixed stuff. Leupold is expensive for a fixed no question. I like the optics and if you were to put one beside the other you would see quite a difference. That said they are good scopes and been around a long time not by accident. Where the Leupie will likely shine is in low light or in crappy weather. Aside from that a fixed is nice and simple so you are not likely to have trouble anyways. Bushnells are ok too especially in the 3200 and 4200 series. Compare and make your choice then go shoot the damn thing and enjoy. You may change your mind later and it should be easy to sell. No great loss. Enjoy and happy shooting.

I have a T-6 on my 597 HMR it's a little under powered at 100m, I too am looking for a higher fixed power for punching paper @ 100m+. I am very happy with the quality of the T-6 they aren't as flashy as the Leupolds But the image is bright and crisp to the edges much better than my Tasco 6-24... but that's to be expected I guess.

Would I have any issues if I put the T-6 on a Lever .44 carbine?
